The Department of Education finances with 10,000 euros this service that manages the Federation of Parents of Parents of Students FAPA Pinatar, who has received more than 1,420 book bookings.

The Councilor for Education, Guadalupe García, along with the mayor of Participación Ciudadana, Fuensanta García, and the president of FAPA Pinatar, Sebastián Mateo, and volunteers from the different AMPAS of the centers of the town, visited yesterday the facilities of the book bank municipal, located in the Hotel of Associations.

Guadalupe Garcia said that this year the City Council has allocated 10,000 euros to the funding of the municipal Bank of Books, which adds to the 30,000 euros that the Department of Education allocates to direct aid for study and mobility at different levels.

The council added that this book bank is complemented by the implementation of the regional government free program that this year will reach students in third and fourth grade.

On the other hand, Sebastián Mateo indicated that this year there have been 1,420 reservations of primary and secondary books, which will reach 220 Pinatarean families and that FAPA has acquired 410 new copies to respond to this demand and expand the bank's funds.

This service is managed by volunteers from FAPA Pinatar who are responsible for the collection, purchase, classification, booking program and distribution of textbooks.

The Bank of Books of San Pedro del Pinatar was born five years ago with the objective of maximizing educational material resources, reusing textbooks that are in good condition at the end of the year, favoring savings and cooperation between families.
