The remodeling works of this road, from the exit of the A7 to the road of El Mojón, include a wide sidewalk, bike path, trees and lighting.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the town planning councilor, Pedro Javier Sánchez, visited today the remodeling works of Avenida del Puerto, from the entrance by the A7 motorway to the intersection with the road of El Mojón , a stretch of 730 meters.
Visitación Martínez has indicated that this work, which has a budget of more than 360,000 euros, will be completed in less than a month and will involve the improvement and expansion of this entrance to the municipality, providing the road with greater accessibility and safety.
The work aims to also improve the image of one of the main entrances to the town, which connects the A7 motorway with the hotel zone, the regional park of Salinas and Arenales, and the beaches of both the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor.
The works consist of the execution of a pedestrian walkway of three meters wide, creating more than 1,800 square meters of sidewalk.
A walkway that will be equipped with LED lighting, thanks to the installation of more than 20 lampposts and will also have trees, since 65 jacarandas will be planted.
The works will also include the resurfacing of the road surface and the creation of a bike lane parallel to it.
In this regard, the mayor highlighted the commitment of the Government Team to expand the bike lane network in the municipality, which currently exceeds 9.6 kilometers and will connect the entire maritime line with the next reform of the seafront.
