San Pedro del Pinatar held last night the sixth edition of the micro-story competition "La Sal" organized by the Department of Culture in collaboration with Salinera Española and framed in the programming organized to mark the International Book Day.
This contest, asked the participants to tell a story in less than 150 words with salt as the main element and with the aim of promoting and rewarding the creative and literary spirit around one of the most representative elements of the municipality.
The jury, composed by the librarian Mª Del Carmen Lloris, professor of Language and Literature, Lázaro Pérez and the newspaper columnist of Los Alcázares, Águeda Ros, awarded the first prize, worth 150 euros and second prize, to the short story "La Sal de the earth ", by Gema Bocardo;
while "Now that you're not there", by Enrique Garcés Fayos Ruiz, won the second prize in the general category.
The story "Lidia" Pepa Albaldejo Pardo won the first prize as the best story of author from Pinar del Río, endowed with 150 euros and "Magic Powders" by Santiago R. Hernández Sáez, was second, on a night enlivened by the Municipal School of Music, the readings of Mª Luisa González Cid and Charo García and the intervention of Alicia Vera who shared the memories of her father who worked more than 50 years in the salinas.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez and the councilor of Culture, Silvia Egea, presented the prizes to the authors in this significant act, which was followed by the presentation of the book by Francisco Javier Illán Vivas, a story of Templar intrigues " 1314 The Templar's Revenge. "
