Arcángel, Remedios Amaya, La Tana and Nadia Márquez get on the tables in San Pedro del Pinatar (14/05/2019)

The XXIV Flamenco Festival of San Pedro del Pinatar, a tribute to Camarón de la Isla, will gather next July 13 this great cast of artists in the park of La Aduana.

The Councilor for Culture of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, Silvia Egea, the flamenco entrepreneur and promoter of the festival, Antonio Montoya, and the bailaora Nadia Márquez, today presented the twenty-fourth edition of the Flamenco Festival of San Pedro del Pinatar, in memory of José Monge "Camarón de la Isla", which will be held on July 13, in the Parque de La Aduana.

Silvia Egea recalled that the festival was born in 1993 to honor Camarón de La Isla after his death and that over the years it has established itself as one of the main summer dates of flamenco in the region, also opening the festival season.

In this edition, San Pedro del Pinatar again offers a poster with top-level figures such as Arcángel, Remedios Amaya, La Tana and Nadia Márquez.

Antonio Montoya stressed that Arcángel is one of the current referents of flamenco and the cantes of Huelva, a style that respects the roots of Jonda but seeks new ways, which has earned him the recognition of audiences and critics, rising in 2018 with the Grammy Latino to the best flamenco album for "Al este del Cante".

The cantaor will be accompanied on guitar by Dani de Morón.

Remedios Amaya is one of the best-known female voices in flamenco, with Camarón as one of her main references, the Sevillian has carved out a long career of success that brought her to this festival in 2002. Now, she returns accompanied by El Perla to Guitar.

Another of the protagonists of the night of July 13 will be La Tana, who will also play along with the guitar of El Perla, showing her perfect mastery of the rhythm and that art that has led her to step on stages around the world in great shows with Farruquito, Antonio Canales or Paco de Lucía.

In this edition the dance bets for the autochthonous talent with Nadia Márquez, that after starting very young a meteoric race in the flamenco world, returned to Pilar de La Horadada where she runs her own school.

The bailaor will be accompanied by José Antonio Chacón and Luis Fernández to cante, Fran Tornero to the Guitar and Alejandro Solano to percussion.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased at ticketmaster, El Corte Inglés, Casa de la Cultura, Tourism Office and the Barón de Benifayó Museum in San Pedro del Pinatar.

The entrance fee is 20 euros in advance and 22 euros at the box office on the day of the festival.
