This conciliation service, by the City Council and the Family and Equal Opportunities Council, through the European Social Fund;
It serves 225 children in July and 163 in August in the schools of Villa Alegría and Maspalomas.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the general director of Women and Equality of Opportunities, Alicia Barquero and the councilors of Education, Carmen María López, and Social Welfare, Fuensanta García, visited the summer schools of the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, co-financed by the Autonomous Community, within the framework of the regional strategy of conciliation and co-responsibility.
This service is offered during the months of July and August in the schools of Villa Alegría and Maspalomas, aimed at children from 3 to 12 years old, with 225 places in July and 163 in the month of August, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours.
In addition, this year a morning classroom has been incorporated from 08:00 hours for those families who request it.
The Summer School, which this year manages the Community Development Institute, involves an investment of 34,530.75 euros, of which 10,702 euros are subsidized as a conciliation service, financed 80% by the European Social Fund and by 20% by the Family and Equal Opportunities Counseling.
Alicia Barquero recalled that the Regional Government, through this line of funding, allocates more than 400,000 euros to subsidize municipalities the implementation of municipal conciliation services.
For its part, Visitación Martínez highlighted the municipal commitment to conciliation through measures such as this, the implementation and expansion during the school year of the morning classroom, which next year will be in three public schools.
