The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar Visitation Martinez has made a balance today on the situation in the municipality after the heavy rains in the last hours, which have left a total of 227 liters per square meter in the last 24 hours, of the which 140 fell in just six hours, between 02:00 and 8:00.
The mayor explained that, given this situation, level 2 of the Local Flood Emergency Plan has been activated and they are currently working to address citizen incidents and the most affected areas 45 municipal troops, among which are Emergency technicians and volunteers , Local Police agents and operators of the Municipal Warehouse.
This local operation also has the support of four fire patrols and three Civil Guard patrols.
Thus, more than 130 warnings have been recorded in the last hours, including 70 basements, garages and houses, 15 evacuations of people from vehicles and homes, as well as health assistance for falls and other incidents.
The mayor recalled that the main streets, avenues and accesses to the town continue to be cut off to traffic, so the recommendation to avoid road trips is maintained unless they are totally indispensable.
He has also reported that the areas most affected by heavy rainfall are the neighborhoods of Los Cuarteros and Los Antolinos, Lo Pagán, El Mojón and all the beaches in the town.
