Youth launches the second edition of the Healthy Alternative Leisure program with about twenty proposals (25/10/2019)

The Department of Youth has scheduled from October 20189 to May 2020 about twenty activities including an event focused on urban dance K-Pop, a comic workshop by Marvel cartoonist Salva Espín and innovative musical proposals such as acoustics of local artists, a battle of 'roosters' or a 'Free Jam Session' in the Plaza de la Constitución.

The Councilor for Youth, Javier Castejón, together with the coordinator of the Leisure, Leisure and Emerging Arts Space, Alejandro López, today presented the Healthy Alternative Leisure program for the 2019-2020 academic year, which includes a dozen activities focused on proposals and interests of local youth, such as urban dance, music, video games, plastic arts, etc.

The program begins this weekend with the Halloween trip to Portaventura, in which 130 young people participate, and continues in November with an acoustic concert by the local group 'Dead Wrong', on Friday, November 15, and a day of activities of the Scout group Hippocampus 503, Saturday 30 from 6:00 p.m.

Most of the activities take place at the Juan Martínez Juliá Center for Leisure and Emerging Arts during weekends.

One of the main events of this program will be the K-Pop Dance event, on December 14 in the municipal tent of the Fairground.

This activity focuses on an original musical genre from South Korea (Korean Pop), a fusion of synthesized music, dance and fashion routines, very booming among young people.

The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will include a dance and karaoke contest, a workshop with an international Kpop figure, commercial stands specialized in kpop culture, etc.

After the Christmas holidays the program will return to the Leisure Center with an acoustics of the Andrea and Virginia duo, on January 10, and the second day of escape room, on Saturday, January 25.

Healthy cooking workshops 'Poke bowls', of laughter therapy, digital photography course, by the Mar Menor Photographic Association, and a comic production session by Marvel cartoonist Salva Espín, will be held on February 15.

Students of the Rock Experience School, located at the Leisure Center, will also offer a concert on Friday, February 28.

In the musical area there will also be a battle of 'Gallos' and a masterclass of urban dances, both activities in the month of April.

The program is completed with laser battle days, video game championships, the exhibition of the drawing workshop taught by Manu Moya and a Free Jam Session, on May 9 in the Constitution Square, in which young music fans They can improvise and play together in this open space.

The objective of this program is to offer a wide offer to young people, adapted to their interests and motivations in a space dedicated to developing their concerns and hobbies.
