The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation to clarify the alleged drug trafficking in a public establishment of the Pátarense district of Lo Pagán, headquarters of an association for the study of cannabis sativa.

The operation 'ASSOCIATION' has resulted in the dismantling of a point of sale of drugs and the arrest / investigation of five people, members of its board, as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking and illegal association crimes.

The registration made at the headquarters of this association has resulted in the seizure of 550 grams of hashish, hashish oil, 511 grams of marijuana, marijuana pollen, 275 euros, seven precision scales, material for handling and packaging the drug, as well as several prohibited weapons (stick-rapier and electric laser).

The investigation began last March, when the Civil Guard was aware of the existence of a place promoted by a non-profit cultural association, dedicated to the study of cannabis.

The neighborhood complaints that were arriving at the Local Police of the municipality, due to the presence of people who consume narcotic substances in the area, generated certain suspicions about a hidden and illegal purpose related to the sale of narcotic substances.

From the premises, located in a building in Lo Pagán-San Pedro del Pinatar, there was a strong smell of marijuana that invaded even the playgrounds located inside the complex.

The Benemérita collected the necessary information and found out that the aforementioned association, established in December 2017, had begun in mid-last year.

Its statutes configured its supposed purpose, a non-profit corporation to promote the study of hemp and its possible cultural, scientific and therapeutic applications, where members of its board of directors and registered partners were registered, which eventually turned out to be customers who acquired the narcotic substances in the premises.

The Civil Guard established numerous police operations that allowed to verify that the premises had external video surveillance cameras, a restricted access system, as well as that the people who ran it maintained a series of security measures, both at their entrance and at his departure from the property, to detect the police presence in the area.

After several months of investigation, the Civil Guard informed the judicial authority of the results obtained and requested the corresponding entry and registration order.

Recently, a large police device carried out the registration of the property.

Inside were identified one of those responsible for the aforementioned Association and a large group of people, most of them with some type of psychotropic substance in their possession, some of which were being consumed in the place, so they were seized and denounced their holders for their possession and consumption.

The exhaustive examination of the different rooms of the property allowed the discovery of an exhibitor in which up to eight different types of marijuana were exhibited, with a list of prices for each of them.

Also several bags of marijuana (more than half a kilo) and another half a kilo of hashish were located, distributed in different rooms, as well as small boats of hashish oil and marijuana pollen inside a refrigerator, in addition to more than 300 bags plastic, seven precision scales and other useful for packaging and sale, even having a data collection for their customers / partners.

In the establishment several prohibited weapons were seized, a stick-rapier and an electric laser, which could constitute a crime of illegal possession of weapons.

The operation 'ASSOCIATION', developed in the Pinatarense district of Lo Pagán, has culminated in the arrest / investigation of five people, among which there is a family relationship, to which the alleged authorship of the traffic offenses is attributed of drug and illegal association.

According to the investigation, the members of this corporation used legal arguments to establish an association with the alleged objective of using it as a cover to establish at its headquarters, located in the hamlet of Lo Pagán-San Pedro del Pinatar, a point of sale of narcotic substances, all of which has been dismantled thanks to exhaustive investigative work of the civil guards.

The arrested / investigated three women and two men, aged between 25 and 68, of Spanish nationality and residents of Los Alcázares and Murcia, the drug, the effects and the weapons intervened, as well as the proceedings taken have been put to disposition of the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia).
