San Pedro, San Javier and Los Alcázares reject the urban moratorium introduced in the Assembly (01/04/2016)

The deputies gathered today in San Pedro del Pinatar, they have stated that the moratorium to be imposed is clearly prejudicial to the interests of the three municipalities.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, with the mayor of San Javier, Jose Miguel Luengo and Cristina Sanchez as spokesman of the government team of Los Alcázares, offered this morning a press conference to assess the motion filed in the Regional Assembly on the urban moratorium del Mar Menor.

Thus, the first mayors of the municipalities represented in the Board Room of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, reject the moratorium on urban development that the Socialist Party wants to impose on the Mar Menor through the motion in the Regional Assembly.

The Socialist motion only refers to urban projects in Cartagena so, according to the Selectmen meeting today, which proceed is that if the City of Port City does not agree with them, paralyzed without harming the more than 70,000 inhabitants They are living in San Pedro, San Javier and Los Alcázares.

The deputies have argued that they have not been consulted and that the moratorium is clearly prejudicial to the interests of the three municipalities as it is a brake municipal development at a time in which to take the pull of economic recovery.

Finally, both Visitation Martinez and José Miguel Luengo and Cristina Sanchez, have asked the parliamentary groups not to support the motion of the Socialist Party, to respect municipal autonomy and not be used to solve the problems of governance of the City of Cartagena.
