The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, accompanied by the president of the brotherhood of San Juan Evangelista, José María González, the president of the Cabildo Superior de Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Holy Week, Mariano Visedo, and Dario Quesada, representative of the Association Friends of The Museums, inaugurated last night the exhibition "Antes y Ahora", of the brotherhood of Saint John the Evangelist, Jesus Triumphant and the Blessed Virgin of Solitude.
In the polyvalent hall of the Barón de Banifayó Museum, until April 16, we can contemplate the history of the Brotherhood through its most valuable heritage from its creation to the present day.
Among the banners, hachotes, costumes etc, stand out the two beautiful carvings of the Apostle St. John, the first, the work of Olot's workshops, dates back to 1950 and processed until 2009. The second sculpture is the work of the imager Ramon Cuenca Santo and is Shoulder to shoulder in the processional parades of the town since 2010.
In addition to the history of the Brotherhood through numerous objects and photographs, the exhibition has various novelties such as the mantle of the Blessed Virgin of Solitude, embroidered in the city of Toledo and donated by a sister of the brotherhood, which will premiere the Virgin in the procession of Good Friday.
