The city of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted on Saturday afternoon, its first popular triathlon whose goal is to bring this sport to anyone who wants to start in it.
For this, shorter distances were established corresponding to the Supersprint mode in which the participants had to perform 300 meters in swimming pool of 25 meters, 10 Kilometers of cycling and 2 of walking race.
The departure was given in the Municipal Swimming Pool Virgen del Carmen with the male categories in the first place, followed by the Women's triathlon and the categories of minors.
Juan Antonio López, of the Club Triathlon Eagles Primaflor, was the fastest marking a time of 31 minutes and 10 seconds.
He was followed in second place by Hector Pujante, of the CT Arabí Yecla Catlike (31:19) and Germán Valero, also of the Eagles, (31:32).
In the category of Non Federados, the podium was formed by Kevin Mondéjar (34:43), Pablo Alarcón (35:09) and Jose Antonio Navarro (35:39).
Ana Fernandez, of the Águilas Primaflor, was the first to cross the finish line of Women's Triathlon, with a time of 38 minutes and 43 seconds.
Fifteen seconds came the triathlete Tritones Murcia, Paula Sánchez (38:58) and Isabel Maria Navarro, CT Arabí Yecla Catlike (39:50), both children.
The award ceremony was chaired by the president of the Federation of Triathlon of the Region of Murcia, Diego Calvo, who positively valued the organization of this type of triathlons in which the promotion of this sport is sought, giving the opportunity to start athletes who practice other disciplines.
The next round of the regional circuit will be Sunday, September 24, with the celebration of the I Triathlon City of Murcia that will take the exit in the municipal pool of Murcia Park and whose inscriptions are still open on the website of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia www.trimurcia.es
