The Tourist Initiatives Center collects until November 26 an exhibition of the 74 photographs submitted to the photo contest, organized by the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, the Fishermen's Association and the Association of Our Lady of Carmen.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the councilor for Tourism, Silvia Egea, the patron of the Fishermen's Association, Jesús Gómez, and the secretary of the Association of the Virgen del Carmen, Paqui Martínez, delivered the night of 2 November, the prizes of the photography contest convened on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Pilgrimage of the Virgen del Carmen.
The first prize, worth 1,000 euros, fell on a nocturnal image of the arrival of the Virgin to the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, by María Dolores Zapata.
The second prize, worth 500 euros, went to Gemma Vega Moreno, who collected the departure of the Virgin in the terrestrial pilgrimage, while the third prize of 250 euros went to José Serrano Sarabia who portrayed the maritime procession.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar highlighted the high level of the 74 photographs submitted to the contest by 23 participants, which reflect different moments of this festival that every July 16 brings together thousands of people who show their devotion to the Virgin of Carmen.
With this photographic exhibition, which will remain until next November 26 at the Center for Tourist Initiatives and which will be exhibited later at the Museum of the Sea, an extensive calendar of events commemorating the 125th anniversary of the feast of the Virgen del Carmen in San Pedro del Pinatar
