The unit of the School Garden Workshop Mill Quentin San Pedro del Pinatar, continues its joint program of training and employment created in order to facilitate the employability of young people under twenty-five unemployed who are performing work on site municipal and county natural areas.
On this occasion, the nine students have carried out landscaping restoration of the species in the garden "Councilman José Antonio Pérez Henarejos" which by its proximity to the Salinas Regional Park needs a very specific species, native and Mediterranean plants to avoid that alien species invading the protected space.
It has therefore been taken into account the views of Ecologists in Action, providers of plants and Regional Park staff to choose a suitable flora and integrated into the environment.
In the first phase have been removed invasive species that have been replaced by a parterre of aromatic (lavender, rosemary, thyme), soon to be planted rush, several copies of Taray and asterisks (yellow-flowered ground cover).
Within months, the City Park will improve their overall appearance to get a usable space for residents who can enjoy two bocce courts, two ping pong tables, benches and pergolas, children's area with games for kids and relax with hammocks labor on pebbles.
