- On May 28, 2009, the Popular Party presented to the House reduced the salaries of all members of the Corporation.
As a result, the salaries of the mayor, down to 56,000 per year.
- On June 2, 2010, the Popular Party has a further reduction in the salaries of all councilors and the Mayor.
On this occasion, the mayor refused to submit to the vote, leaving on the table and saying he had lowered the salary.
- On September 17, 2010, the mayor resigns his dedication to the City Council as from August 1 is working at a private residence and your work schedule coincides with the City Council schedule, going to collect the monthly of 2,250 euros for attending plenary sessions (1 per month), the Commission shall inform Parliament and Local Government (1 week).
For the Popular Party of San Pedro del Pinatar is pathetic that the local PSOE wants to deceive the pinatarenses using the crisis we currently live to justify to the Mayor and hide the real reasons for his resignation from the dedication to the City Council and its refusal to lowered the salary a few months earlier.
