The Municipal Theatre Workshop represents classics, humor and music to benefit AFEM (04/05/2011)

The councilman of Culture of the Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, Mark David Grace, today announced the schedule of the Second Exhibition of Amateur Theatre of the municipality, which this year allocated share of the profits to the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Pervasive Developmental Disorder Children and Youth (AFEM).

Mark David Gracia explained that the sample consists of four plays, directed by Pedro Segura, teacher for the Municipal Theatre of San Pedro del Pinatar, with 45 students.

In this regard, stressed the work and effort of this workshop, which in recent years has tripled the number of students and has managed to bring his works to several nearby theaters.

Grace has highlighted the work that since the council, has been carried out in recent years to share the stage, through the programming of modern cinema, which in 2010 hosted about 30 shows, and the workshop, which was recently been established as a company, named "Whenever Theatre."

Workshop director, Pedro Segura, explained that the exhibition will begin on 13 May with an adaptation of "Yerma" by García Lorca.

May 21 will be the turn of "Caligula", where a young student will play the Roman emperor offering "multiple records, showing great creativity," he assured Segura.

As a major novelty municipal workshop has prepared this year for the music represented by teenagers and younger students.

It is "a ruin of Casting," written and directed by Pedro Segura.

The exhibition will close on June 4 with "Two to the right, two backwards," a work in which two students acting workshop with two professional actors, the director Pedro Segura y Manolo Menéndez.

Serafina Zapata, cultural programming of the Ayuntamiento, has highlighted the work done by the workshop throughout the season.
