Environment offering 40 courses and workshops on sustainability and cultural heritage (17/05/2011)

Councilman Environment San Pedro del Pinatar, Mark David Grace, today announced the schedule of courses and workshops on sustainability and cultural heritage which includes a total of 40 training activities in seven different areas.

Thus, the program is structured in the areas of energy, bio, agro-ecology, history and heritage, urban ecology, paleontology and human evolution, and Environment, natural areas, fauna and flora.

The council has stressed the importance of these courses, which aim to build on environment and ecology, not to mention the natural and cultural heritage of the municipality, with courses on archaeological remains and the region.

In this regard, he indicated that all courses, coordinated by Juan Carlos Blanco, will be taught by qualified staff who will provide knowledge on various topics such as organic farming, renewable energy, flora and fauna or heritage.

For his part, White has highlighted, among the most innovative and practical courses, workshops for the manufacture of biodiesel from oils, green brick construction and utilities or cultivation of microalgae.

In the area of ​​renewable energy, solar thermal and photovoltaic, solar cookers, wind energy practice, where students can create a home aerogenedor power, biomass energy, biodiesel, and a workshop for external combustion engines.

In terms of bio will be held two workshops on building self bioclimatic and brick production and organic.

Urban ecology is another theme of this program block, which includes courses on sustainable mobility, bicycle transportation, environmentally friendly heating with biomass, energy saving in housing, electric vehicles and sustainable products and technologies for housing.

In addition, since Environment intensify the training offered by agro-ecology, to encourage the use of municipal organic gardens, this will provide general courses on organic farming, orchard management, procurement and use of essential oils, soap making and culture and Utilities of microalgae.

In block Natural Areas, Fauna and Flora, including eight courses and workshops to be developed in different natural enclaves of the region, as the head Gordo, the Mar Menor and Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro.
