San Pedro del Pinatar improves the quality of services and leisure activities during the summer (30/09/2011)

The City conditioned the beaches and available during the months of July and August a special operation against jellyfish and other cleaning algae, also developed various measures to encourage tourism and trade sectors of the town.

In this regard, he stressed the implementation of specific measures to clean beaches, such as the operation against the jellyfish on the beaches and La Puntica Villananitos.

In this regard, said San Pedro del Pinatar was the first municipality to take concrete steps against the wave of jellyfish in the Mar Menor, establishing a permanent clean-catch bathing areas, consisting of 12 municipal warehouse workers, with the collaboration of 30 volunteers from civil protection and ships of the fishermen's guild.

Further builds beaches like El Mojon and fallen towers, where during the two months we worked intensively, removing 11,000 tons of algae in 700 truck trips.

To ensure the safety of swimmers, Civil Protection of 45 lifeguards available, distributed over 14 km of coastline of the municipality, which conducted a total of 4,500 interventions.

These actions have been completed with local trade promotion through the closure to traffic of the street in Lo Pagán Antonio Tárraga or improving and expanding the night market that has had a total of 55 booths, 15 more than the previous year, among other measures.

The mayor also said that since the Police Department has intensified local trade protection with a special campaign against street vending in areas like the boardwalk and Mota, which has resulted in the processing of more than fifty allegations.
