The City Council ordinances creates new tax that will raise more than 300,000 per year (03/11/2011)

The Plenum of the City of San Javier today approved the creation of new fees for special use of public domain, mainly affecting the telecommunications companies, and health services that impact on insurers.

The Plenum of the City of San Javier today approved the implementation of new fees for special use of public domain, service delivery and conduct of civil marriage and registration of partnerships.

These new tax ordinances, which will be launched in 2012, will provide an income for city coffers of more than 300,000 euros, to cover the cost of providing such services.

Thus, higher income is obtained through the fee for special use of public domain, which records primarily to mobile phone companies operating in the municipality, since it is expected that the collection of 2012 amounts to 176,627 euros.

Also, the ordinance was approved regulatory tax rate for delivery of health services of assessment, initial care and transport in road accidents, work or school by insurance companies, which will allow the City to collect more than 117,000 euros in 2012.

As for Civil Marriages rate, has set a rate of 200 euros for the provision of municipal service, which was reduced to 150 euros for those registered in the municipality, and 50 euros for the entry in the Register of Couples of Fact.

This rate quotas were established based on the extra cost that involves the use of municipal facilities after hours and will involve an approximate annual income of 13,500 euros.

In addition, the House approved the amendment of the ordinance regulating the fee for services of the municipal swimming pool, sports facilities and outdoor sports to include the rental of the turf track, which is eight euros an hour, and has set the supplement of artificial light in two euros per hour.

Also, it has changed the tax rate ordinance by performing administrative activities for issuing documents, including the concept of issuing of a report for family reunification of foreigners, with a fee of 33.02 euros.

The mayor of San Javier explained that this change in the tax ordinance is not a tax increase, but the regulation in the management of services for which revenues were not perceived.

In this regard, has stressed that since the government team has fulfilled the commitment not to raise local taxes and deal with the economic situation with saving and spending restraint.

"Our commitment is that the citizens of San Javier does not pay the excesses of the previous government, so we opted for the establishment of rates that directly affect only insurance companies and telecommunications," he concluded.
