The Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar included in the international "Migratory Birds for People ' (11/12/2011)

The Visitor Center Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Javier, has been included in the international network 'Migratory Birds for People' (MBP), to promote awareness and awareness of citizens on the need to protect conserve migratory birds and wetland as habitat for these birds rest.

This recognition is the result of the efforts and actions undertaken by the Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General for Environment, since 2009 in the Visitor Center Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar, in wetland education programs and exchange of expertise.

Thus, the center of the region adds to the 15 visitor centers that make up the international network 'Migratory Birds for People' and work together, to share best practices and develop new approaches in the interpretation and communication on wetlands.

The purpose is to promote the creation of a cohesive network of visitor centers in European wetlands that are part of each of the stops for migratory birds need to reach the end of their journey and thus complete their annual life cycle.

Centers that make up the European migration route stretching from Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Finland, Russia, Denmark and Spain.

In addition to the Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Pedor of Pinatar, this network includes other Spanish as the Empordà Marshes Natural Park, the Parque Natural del Delta del Ebro National Park Doñana.

Improve the protection of migratory birds

Wetland of International Importance

The Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales de San Javier, which has an area of ​​856 hectares, is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, some endangered.
