The Department of Citizen Participation today introduced the activity, part of the 175th anniversary of City Hall, the home of Raymond Benedict Pensioner
The City of San Javier has launched the "Bank of Wisdom Pinatarense" project which is part of the commemoration of 175 anniversary of the creation of the session and trying to encourage the participation of the elderly in the life the municipality.
This project, which will take place entirely during 2012, the year of "Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity", is established as a place to deposit all the knowledge, memory and the traditions that the elders of the town, a legacy of identity and pinatarense collective memory of the municipality.
The bank will draw on the life stories and wisdom, pinatarenses treasured by all those wishing to contribute to get that shadow zone between history and memory.
The mayor of Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea, explained that this activity involves "creating a culture of active aging, promoting the participation of the elderly in the recovery of our historic past."
During the presentation, which involved more than 50 major, has presented the aim of the project, designed to recognize older people as sources of knowledge, fosters self-esteem in the elderly, bringing local history to citizens, making it more democratic and participatory.
To conclude, Jose Guirao, one of the largest that will be part of the project, told everyday situations San Javier in the postwar period and beyond.
