Village headman and associations know the keys PGOM review of San Javier (20/11/2012)

The departments of Citizenship and Urbanism briefings initiated participatory process "We have a plan for you," with which it is intended that the municipality's citizens to contribute their ideas and suggestions on the urban planning of the municipality

The schedule of briefings included in the participatory process "We have a plan for you", in which the city of San Javier tries to collect the suggestions and ideas of citizens in relation to the progress of the review of the General Plan Municipal (PGOM), began yesterday with a meeting which was attended by the village headman and representatives of various associations.

During the meeting, the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea said the Municipal General Management Plan is the instrument that defines the urban planning of all the lands that lie within the municipality of San Javier, classifying and establishing soil determinations for management with sustainable development criteria.

It also explained that the City has begun the process of reviewing this document, in effect since 1984, to suit the current economic and social circumstances.

Therefore, he said, the goal of the session is set "a municipality for all", which will reflect the suggestions and opinions of pinatarenses.

Therefore, the departments of Citizenship and Urbanism have launched a participatory process that seeks the involvement of groups and citizens of San Javier through various means such as a survey on the town, which can be accessed through the municipal website or requested from the two negotiated, and briefings which explains the outline of the plan.

During the first meeting with village headman and representatives of associations, the municipal technician Planning, Andres Rojo, explained the current situation of the municipality and modifications including PGOM advance.

He indicated that the development of the municipality is limited by the Regional Park of Salinas and Arenales, classified as special protection and that occupies a third of the total area of ​​the municipality, so it provides a minimum increase of construction land.

The advance of PGOM also raises the pedestrianization of the commercial and historical centers of San Javier and Lo Pagan, as well as the reclassification of three areas as residential land, led to economic activities and intended to hotel, respectively.

The document also provides for the reorganization of general systems, with improved access to the town and the expansion of the green zone parallel to the perimeter road.

After responding to questions from the audience, the Town Planning, Angela Gaona, said that after the collection and analysis of all questionnaires, which can be submitted until December 31, will create a technical bench composed Urbanism, Industrial Services, Citizenship, Environment, Parks and Gardens and Community Services, which will summarize the citizen proposals and feasibility study.
