The municipality of San Javier has acceded to the Convention on the establishment of a Social Housing Fund, as complemented by other actions such as the implementation of a specific service and meetings with groups of affected and financial institutions
The Governing Board of the City of San Javier has approved accession to the Convention for the Establishment of a Social Housing Fund, signed by the national executive, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and financial institutions to create a bag 6,000 housing for people who have been affected by evictions since 2008.
Under the agreement, banks will inform the Council about the homes available to the Social Housing Fund.
For its part, the City, through social services, financial institutions provide reports on the need or risk of the applicant and provide housing information and advice to those who wish to apply for the housing fund.
The residents of the municipality who meet the above requirements, shall be eligible for housing social rented, which costs between 150 and 400 euros and will be less than 30% of their income.
The mayor of the municipality, Visitation Martinez, explained that since the council are undertaking various measures to address this social problem in a comprehensive manner, with the aim of offering a quick answer and affected effective.
Therefore, the City of San Javier has launched an advisory service and information aimed at families in the municipality affected by eviction proceedings.
This new service is provided from the departments of Social Services, which provides the necessary legal advice as to the specific situation of each affected, and Employment, which coordinates activities with financial institutions.
The service and information to those affected by evictions are served on Mondays, from 11:00 to 14:00 in the Social Services building, located in C / Los Alcazares.
In order to raise awareness of these measures, the mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez this week held a meeting with members of the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage of the region of Mar Menor, where they reported the launch of the new service, and adherence to the agreement of the Social Housing Fund.
Also, this week has held a working meeting attended by seven financial institutions responsible presence in the municipality, the council of Social Services, Francisca Pelegrin, and Employment, Antonio Garcia, and municipal technicians involved in this field.
The purpose of this meeting was to establish lines of action and protocols for implementing joint conciliation and mediation measures aimed at protecting the right to housing for families with special social vulnerability.
