The students know the peculiarities of Easter and the procession of the Virgen del Carmen (18/03/2013)

The departments of education and tourism have been conducted for the second consecutive year, a series of talks aimed at teaching pupils in the second primary cycle on the characteristics of the Easter pilgrimage pinatarense and maritime Virgen del Carmen

The City of San Javier, through the departments of Education and Tourism, has made a series of lectures and educational tour on the side of the Easter holiday and the pilgrimage pinatarense maritime Virgen del Carmen, both declared Regional Tourist Interest.

These talks, aimed at students in second cycle primary aim of the municipality that children know the traditions of the municipality through the festivities, which have deep roots and participation.

This activity also affects the tourism impact of Easter and the Virgen del Carmen, as well as the peculiarities that differentiate them from similar festivals in other municipalities.

For Easter, the students know the colors and symbols that distinguish each brotherhoods, the number of groups that exist in the municipality, age and artistic significance of thrones, processions developments and how participation has grown in them over the years, or the cuisine of these dates.

Children also learn about other features of the Easter in different parts of the Region, as the Mula and Moratalla tamboradas, the "arrest" of San Pedro in Cartagena, the rivalry of the steps in the blue and white biblical processions Lorca, carrying miners attributes Nazarenes in the Union or the originality of the costumes of the "coloraos" of Murcia.

Moreover, it is explained to the students the patronage of the Virgin of Carmen, the antiquity of this pilgrimage, the large number of people and the devotion of the fishermen, among other features and curiosities.

In this activity, 270 students participated in the first, second, fifth and sixth graders from schools Hopes, Villa Alegria, Maspalomas and San Pedro Apostle.
