After neighborhood protests in Lo Pagán by the adoption of the ordinance ORA for the summer months on the esplanade and boardwalks Puntica and Villananitos, the mayor has tried to get a meeting with the protesters.

So, last Wednesday, January 15th, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez met with the village headman Lo Pagan, Pedro Vicente Ferrer, and representatives of business associations and residents of Lo Pagán, José Sáez and Charo Tárraga respectively.

During this meeting, the mayor proposed a vote commissioning of the blue, from 15 June to 15 September, in an open consultation to all residents and businesses in the area, not just the partners had been questioned in a partial view, promoted by the association of entrepreneurs, who got 39 votes.

This consultation, which would take place within approximately 10 days, using municipal and business censuses include a briefing after which the City would expose the details of the project and give space to associations to explain the causes their opposition.

In addition to convening the presidents of both associations to this meeting, the mayor has given them a few minutes before the start of regular full, held this morning in the city, in order to show their position publicly.

Through a manifesto, the representatives of these associations have expressed that they will continue with the protests until the ordinance is withdrawn and suspended the agreement reached yesterday for the realization of the above consultation.

Visitation Martinez has maintained the offer of the City to develop this participatory process, open to all, and reiterated that the government team will abide by what most manifest.

The mayor stressed that, from the beginning, the aim of this measure has been to promote the commercial and business sector in the area, offering a better fluidity and ease of parking and avoiding parking vehicles permanently in big way influx during the summer.

The ordinance originally adopted in plenary on 12 December includes the creation of 450 seats in blue area from 12:00 to 04:30 hours, distinguishing day and night from 15 June to 15 September rates.
