The City reduces CO2 emissions and electricity bills by replacing lighting fixtures (27/06/2014)

The Department of Industry has initiated a plan to renovate the pubic lighting with changing streetlights Kings Park Sea Lo Pagan Spain by LED luminaires.

The City of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Industry, has begun to renew public lighting, in order to reduce CO2 emissions and deepen saving electricity bills.

Thus, the Department of Industry has replaced 53 sodium vapor streetlights Park Sea Kings of Spain Lo Pagan, who consumed 140 watts / hour, LED (27 watt / hour) lamps, which saves 4,600 per year in electricity bills.

Councilman bouquet, José Guillermo García, explained that the City is raised gradually change public lighting and pointed out that the next action in this area will replace mercury vapor lamps, which still remain in several areas of town and have a consumption of 200 watts / hour per LED technology (47 watts / hour).

This action is part of the Municipal Energy Conservation Plan, adopted in 2011 and includes other measures that have already been launched as the installation of astronomical clocks to optimize the ignition timing of the streetlights, reduced flow in the early hours or the approval of a new contract for the supply of electricity, which has meant a reduction of 15 percent of the electricity bill.
