Barnabas stressed that this action requested by the Yacht Club de Lo Pagán, "is an extension of nautical sports facility motivated by the need to increase the number of berths and contribute to the removal of irregular anchorage of vessels that located in the vicinity of the sport dock, currently occupying an area of ​​approximately 80,000 square meters and endangering both the quality of the waters and the seabed ".

"At the same time, the works can help make the use of port facilities between the fishing dock and nautical-sports, dock while increase and improve operating conditions and safety first," explained the Minister of Development .

The Minister stressed the importance that the marine industry has in the region of Murcia, "especially equipped for its climate and its two seas to practice all kinds of nautical activities and sports", and highlighted the Government's willingness " to influence these aspects in order to realize the full potential that we have. The works are budgeted at 1.2 million euros, and have a lead time of eight months.

They consist, among other interventions, recovery of drafts by dredging;

More than 6,200 moorings

The Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia manages 17 ports, of which 5 have fishing and pleasure harbors and only the remaining 12 sports, with a total supply of 5,528 moorings sports.

In addition, the Port of Cartagena, under the Central Government, has 3 sports docks, with an offer of 676 moorings, bringing the total supply of sport moorings in the Autonomous Community is, therefore, to 6,204 points.
