The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia, in one of the services framed in the 'Plan against illegal catches of bluefin tuna', has inspected the coast of San Pedro del Pinatar, a boat in which they were found and confiscated eight pieces of bluefin tuna, Thunnus thunnus, captured illegally.

The skipper has been denounced for alleged infringement of Law 2/2007 of 12 March, Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Region of Murcia.

The specimens were deposited in the association of fishermen from the port of San Pedro del Pinatar, for consideration by the health services of the region and its declaration of fitness for human consumption.

Given the irregularities, the Civil Guard has denounced the alleged infringer, a neighbor of the town of Roquetas de Mar (Almería), for violation of the Law 2/2007, of March 12, Sea Fisheries and Aquaculture Region Murcia.

The penalty provided for this fact, considered a serious offense, ranges between 201 and 3,000 euros, according to regional regulations apply.
