The City Council and FCC encourage recycling among students with Ecolimpia campaign (26/06/2015)

A total of 360 children in fifth and sixth year of primary education have participated for the second year in this campaign to promote recycling.

The Councillor for Education of San Pedro del Pinatar, Guadalupe Garcia, the mayor of the Environment, Pedro Javier Sanchez, and the director of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) Environment in Alicante and Murcia, Fernando de Mateo, have delivered today Awards Ecolimpia campaign, which the company has developed in collaboration with the city in schools Nuestra Señora del Carmen, The Antolinos, Los Pinos and Villa Joy.

The Councillor for Education explained that this awareness campaign about recycling aims to raise awareness and attitudes in school about the importance of properly separate the different types of packaging at source.

Through the campaign "clean-City School clean" has informed the 360 ​​participating students how to reduce waste at home and at school, the various types of waste, how to separate them, their fate and environmental benefits of recycling , among other topics.

For his part, Fernando de Mateo has stressed the importance of this type of environmental awareness campaigns and thanked the welcome from the educational community of San Pedro del Pinatar.

After the talks, the children have creatively captured information about the importance of recycling in several drawings.

The first prize of a tablet for students and one for the

school, was for Daniel Sanchez (CBM Los Pinos).

While the second prize, a bicycle, went to Angela Carrasco Perona (CEIP Los Antolinos) and the third prize went to an MP5 Adrei Marian (CBM Nuestra Señora del Carmen).

The finalists have been made by Laura Fernandez (CBM Los Pinos), Chaimae the Aouni (CEIP Los Antolinos) Roberto Zapata (CBM Los Pinos), Alvaro Molero (CBM Los Pinos), Laura Badan (CBM Los Pinos), Christopher Moya (CBM Los Pinos) and Paula Egío (CBM Villa Joy).
