A total of 37 lifeguards monitor the beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar this summer (01/07/2015)

The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez and the councilman of Civil Protection, Angel Gaona, today presented the monitoring device on beaches this summer, which began on June 15 in Villananitos beaches and La Puntica and It is extended to the Mediterranean beaches today, July 1.

The summer monitoring plan COPLA included in the regional plan, will be operational until 15 September in the Mediterranean beaches and extended until September 30 in Villananitos and La Puntica, which have the largest number of bathers.

The operation consists of 37 lifeguards and has six checkpoints and first aid seven watchtowers and five chairs proximity.

This monitoring, which takes place from 11:30 to 19:30, is supported by means of water, such as two vessels for rescue and water rescue two bikes.

Among other functions, rescuers attend Villananitos accessible points and La Puntica, featuring amphibious chairs and crutches to facilitate disabled bathroom, and inform bathers about the need to respect preventive measures.

The mayor pointed out that this year has improved the service, beginning 15 days prior surveillance and expanded until the end of September in the busiest places.
