Young Survival workshop (26/04/2010)

The Department of Equality and Youth of San Pedro del Pinatar, organized a workshop Emancipation to provide young people with skills to develop without problems when, for example, become independent from home to study away from home.

The Young Survival workshop began on April 23 with some exceptional teachers, Juana April Gea, Faustina Rosique, Ana Isabel Nicholas, Maximina Murcia and Angelita Martinez, belong to the support group "Much For Life", the group of women affected by breast cancer, among other things, take care to accompany and give encouragement to newly diagnosed women and that this time taught at the Casa de la Juventud, cooking classes, laundry, ironing, general cleaning and household management.

The workshop aimed at young people aged between 16 and 19, is offering teens a basic training on domestic commissariat, provide skills to start their career as independent adults and teach healthy lifestyle patterns.

Moreover, activity breaks through the image of "sick" that typically accompany those affected by cancer, and that, on the contrary, women are active and happy in this new stage in their lives enjoy more of everything, on the other first, it strengthens the ties between two generations, so that young people appreciate their daily work and "teachers" are enriched by the exchange of experiences.

The Young Survival workshop is free and has a new date on Friday 30 April and 7 May.
