Special Police Unit Tutor belonging to the local police in San Pedro del Pinatar, is conducting a conference on road safety education in all primary schools in the municipality.
This activity called "Education Week Road" is divided into two parts, a theoretical class where students learn how to behave when driven on the road, by bike or pedestrian, focusing on those basic signals that need to know and are mandatory for all road users.
The second part of the activity is to apply learning in practice for it in schools children are riding a road circuit, provided by the JPT, which has two-way lanes, signalized intersections, a roundabout and all the signals that should know.
Classes are divided into two groups, where half the students are uploaded on bicycles circling around the circuit and the other half traveling as pedestrians, must comply with the signals they encounter during the trip.
Students climb on a bicycle, are fitted with a reflective vest and a helmet, explaining the agents assigned to the Special Police Unit Tutor, the importance of using these elements.
Since the establishment of the police unit in the Police Local Tutor in San Pedro del Pinatar in the school year 07/08, have been conducted in all schools of the municipality both primary and secondary school road safety education talks, Civics, and Drug inter alia, achieving a rapprochement between students and police, raising young people of the town to see the "Police" as a friend with whom they can count for any questions, concerns or problems they may have.
The Unit is also working on courses of Initial Vocational Training Program.
