The municipality returns this summer to host the International University of the Sea with two courses in the area of ​​health and education, which will be taught at the Center for Women, Equality and Social Services Agustina Santiago.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the director of the Universidad del Mar (UNIMAR) and Permanent Headquarters of the University of Murcia, Mercedes Bernabé, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Guadalupe García, the co-director of the biomedicine workshop , José Meseguer, and the coordinator of the dramatization course for learning, Rosa Mª Pérez, today presented the training offered by UNIMAR in the municipality in the months of July and September.
Visitación Martínez has highlighted the close collaboration of the International University of the Sea (UNIMAR) with the City of San Pedro del Pinatar since 2001 and has praised the dissemination work carried out by the university through initiatives such as this, which broadens the educational offer of the locality and get the university closer to all citizens.
For its part, Mercedes Bernabé thanked the City for their collaboration in the thirty-fifth edition of these UNIMAR summer courses and has shown its commitment to continue working hand in hand with the municipalities to bring the University closer to citizens and expand education not formal, through a varied offer of workshops and informative activities.
Thus, San Pedro del Pinatar will host from July 2 to 6 the course 'Dramatization for the learning of competencies for life: learning to be', aimed at showing the possibilities of dramatization as a communicative and creative research tool.
A course focused on improvisation and whose purpose is that students know themselves more and that at the end of the course they can give theater workshops, said the coordinator.
On the other hand, from September 4 to 7 will be held in San Pedro del Pinatar for the fifth consecutive year the 'Workshop on bio-medicine and quality of life', accredited as a course of health interest by the Ministry of Health and, among other issues, It addresses the importance of adequate nutrition, the prevention and treatment of diseases, the socio-health challenges of the aging of the population or the living will, among other points, said the co-director of the course, who recalled that participants will also enjoy a visit to Las Encañizadas del Mar Menor, as an example of an uncontaminated medium.
