The president of the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia, José Miguel Monje, along with the local mayor, Visitación Martínez, and Rafael Lorente, a player from El Algar who suffered a cardiac arrest, presided over this act of delivery with which finalized the donation program of the FFRM that has equipped more than 300 defibrillators with pavilions and fields throughout the Region.
The municipal pavilion Prince of Asturias hosted on Thursday, May 31, the act of delivery of two defibrillators by the FFRM to the Town Hall of San Pedro del Pinatar for sports facilities.
The event, which was also attended by officials of the local football and soccer clubs, as well as students from various municipal sports schools, served to close the campaign carried out by the FFRM to protect the sports facilities of the Region.
After the screening of a video in which his experience told the football player Rafael Lorente, who saved his life last season because he was treated with a defibrillator during a game he played with his team, the Club Deportivo Algar;
the president of the FFRM, José Miguel Monje, explained that this installment closes a campaign in which 350 defibrillators have been donated, for an amount of 600,000 euros, to pavilions and sports fields throughout the Region.
For its part, Visitación Martínez thanked this donation from the FFRM and explained that these two defibrillators will go to the outdoor sports courts and the Los Antolinos football field, thus adding to the existing one in the pavilion.
He added that San Pedro del Pinatar is a heart-healthy and cardioprotected locality, since it has more than thirty defibrillation monitors in public spaces such as municipal buildings, sports facilities, pensioner's homes, schools, libraries, beaches and other spaces where a large concentration number of people.
