The National Association of Chemists and Chemical Engineers of Spain (ANQUE) celebrates its ninth international congress from June 17 to 20, bringing together more than a hundred students, researchers, professionals and companies, which in this edition is about food and drinks.
This congress is a forum for debate and exchange of information between companies, administration and public institutions, research centers and universities, in which the latest scientific and technological advances applicable to the field of food and beverages are presented.
Thus, the program covers various current issues such as food safety, European regulations, the circular economy or the challenges in the reuse of water, among others.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, invited the congressmen to visit this coastal town and thanked the organizing committee for the election of the municipality as the venue for this important meeting.
The opening ceremony, held on June 17, was attended by the president of ANQUE, Ernesto Castañeda;
the general director of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Aquaculture of the Autonomous Community, Francisco José González;
the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, the vice-rector of Infrastructure Planning of the University of Murcia;
Belén López;
the Vice Chancellor for Research at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Beatriz Miguel;
the president of the Scientific Committee, María del Carmen Cartagena, and the president of the organizing committee, Antonio Bódalo.
