This initiative, which is developed together with the Association of Disabled Mar Menor, Aidemar, and with the collaboration of the City Council, aims to promote solidarity recycling.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the technical director of Estrella Levante, José Antonio Abadía, and the director of the Special Employment Center of Aidemar, Tomas López, have presented these new can compactors, with capacity for 2,000 packages each one of them.
"Recycling helps everyone to the environment and we give the opportunity to do a job to the Employment Center for the disabled of AIDEMAR, a group that is already responsible for cleaning the beaches of the Mar Menor," says Juan Antonio Abadía, technical director of Estrella de Levante .
For its part, the mayor explained that these 10 compactors will be installed in the vicinity of the beaches of Lo Pagan until September, giving a new option for recycling to residents and visitors of the town and has praised this project circular economy of Estrella de Levante.
For his part, the director of the Special Employment Center of Aidemar has highlighted the commitment of the association with this project, as it will be responsible for the maintenance and collection of these packages, which will involve the creation of three new jobs, has indicated .
In addition to maintaining the recycling system, AIDEMAR will charge around 1 euro for each kilogram of aluminum that they collect.
The cans are a residue of easy handling, light, that does not break, does not burn and does not oxidize.
It is easily compacted and has important advantages because 100% of aluminum can be recycled without diminishing its quality.
Through a simple gesture, which is explained on the top of the compactor, any citizen can recycle the cans he consumes.
