The project of maintenance and better integral of this space of 13,230 square meters, with an investment of around 450,000 euros, has endowed the maritime façade of an area accessible to the game, fun, rest and sports of neighbors and visitors
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community, Miriam Guardiola, today attended the reopening of the Kings of Spain park, next to the Lo Pagán esplanade .
Visitación Martínez has highlighted the important tourist enclave of this park, located on the seafront and at the beginning of the busy avenue of the Pilgrimage of the Virgen del Carmen.
"With this performance we have changed the concept of the old park, generating activities for the whole family and welcoming those who visit us with a large leisure area in the heart of Lo Pagán", explained the mayor.
To make this renewed space known, a reopening day has been celebrated with activities for the whole family, such as cantajuegos, workshops, pintacaras, or the visit of animated characters, Drilo El Cocodrilo or ¡Holi!

The project, carried out by the local architecture and engineering firm Blek, has consisted of adapting this large green area to the new needs of accessibility, use, maintenance and aesthetics.
To do this, a platform of smooth slopes has been erected, protected by concrete walls that simulate the movement of water.
They have also enabled different areas of activities, from a children's area with grass pavement for children, games for older children with a zip line, and picnic tables with ping pong areas for adults.
In addition, healthy life is encouraged with a circuit for sports activities, complemented by biosaludables apparatuses, which is completed with a bike path that joins the bicycle axis that connects San Pedro del Pinatar to the seafront.
It has also claimed the name of the park itself, through concrete letters at the entrance from Avenida Romería del Carmen.
Given the marine nature, it has focused on the marine theme, highlighting in the center of the park a marine animal as a source, enabled for the game, with a modern and attractive system.
In addition, the shadows have been taken care of with the existing trees, the planting of new spices and the placement of textile pergolas in the children's play areas, pedestrian promenade and cycle path.
