The feast of the Virgen del Carmen culminated last morning with the traditional procession of the return of the image of the patron saint of fishermen from the church of Our Lady of Carmen in Lo Pagán, a temple that keeps it every July 16 after the procession maritime, to the church of San Pedro Apóstol, where it is located throughout the year.
Thus, hundreds of neighbors and faithful departed after midnight of Lo Pagan, after an intense day of honors and cheers to the 'Star of the Seas', which began at 08:00 with the mass in the Plaza de la Constitución that preceded the terrestrial pilgrimage and maritime procession.
In a festive atmosphere, the Virgin made the journey back to the parish of San Pedro Apóstol, enlivened by the band and with numerous spontaneous tributes, such as flares, or parts of the road in which the image was carried on the shoulders by women.
At around 02:00 am one of the most emotional moments of the day was lived, with the entrance of the Virgin of Carmen into the temple after the municipal band sang the national anthem, already inside the temple, the faithful the last "Salve marinero" until next year.
