The councilor of Civic Participation, Fuensanta García, went Sunday to meet and show their support for the campaign that has promoted Rotary Mar Menor and distributed 2,000 ashtrays on the beach of La Puntica in San Pedro del Pinatar to raise awareness among citizens about the care of the coast and reduce the presence of cigarette butts in the sand of the Mar Menor beaches and reduce these polluting residues.
The objective of the campaign that has been carried out in the municipalities of Mar Menor and that has ended in San Pedro del Pinatar is to contribute to making the beaches clean spaces and to raise awareness for the conservation of the marine environment.
This initiative that has distributed 6000 cones, reusable and free, has counted with the collaboration of the municipalities of San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar, the shopping center Zenia Boulevard, the General Directorate of the Environment and Mar Menor of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the hotel Entremares and the hotel Cavanna.
Club officials have expressed their gratitude for the involvement of regional and local authorities as well as companies and entities of the Mar Menor.
They have also thanked the young people and children who have voluntarily contributed to the distribution of ashtrays to raise awareness and keep the beaches of our environment clean.
