The fifth edition of the Full Moon Race gathered last night around 800 athletes of all ages in this night race under the full moon that is celebrated every July in the surroundings of the Salinas and Arenales de San Pedro regional park.
The fifth edition of the Pinatar Full Moon Race, included in the Murcia Running Challenge circuit, was held last night at the Marina de Las Salinas Marina and counted, once again, with a large participation of athletes who toured, under the light of the moon, the unique environment of the natural park Salinas and Arenales de San Pedro.
A unique natural landscape, in which the runners must deal with different surfaces, such as asphalt and sand, with a route of 7.5 kilometers, which makes the event a benchmark in the regional calendar, a meeting that in this edition , added 800 registered, reaching the limit of 600 runners in absolute category.
The Full Moon Race also had children's events in which around 200 children and young people participated in the categories of prebenjamines to youth, in the dock of the marina.
The race had a circular route of 7.5 kilometers, in which the participants have toured the avenue of El Puerto, paths of the Regional Park and the natural beach of Torre Derribada.
The runner Zacarías Rqiq, from the Rajaos Runners club, was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 25:37, followed by José Carlos Caparrós, from the Paris Real Estate Group, with a time of 26:03, and Bienvenido Ballester, from the club local 30740, with 26:15.
In the female category, Mar Gómez, from Rajaos Runners Alcantarilla, was the first classified with a time of 31:45, followed by Beatriz Ríos, from the Alcaraz Group, with 32:13 in the qualifying time, and in third place, Irma Lorena Duchi, from Espuña Trial, with 32:48.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the Councilor for Sports, Javier Castejón, and the General Director of Youth, Francisco Sánchez, were in charge of delivering the trophies and medals in the different categories.
