The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) of the municipality installed during the weekend points of cost in San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagan, with the aim of collecting funds for prevention programs, help to the sick and their families and in special, to the investigation, according to the president of the Provincial Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, Manuel Molina Boix, who in this ceremony accompanied the president of the Local Board of the AECC, Hilario Tárraga and the mayor, Visitación Martínez.
The association carries out this activity the first weekend of August for years.
During the two days in which the campaign was developed, the AECC raised just over 8,000 euros.
Hilario Tárraga thanked the generosity of the neighbors and visitors of the municipality who collaborate with this cause.
For its part, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, who visited the table installed in the Plaza de la Constitución, stressed the importance of collaborating with associations such as the AECC that in recent years has contributed to the investigation of this disease, its prevention and provision of help to the sick and family members.
