The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez has held a meeting today with the new president of Red Cross Mar Menor North, Manuel Leal Nicolás.
The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has several collaboration agreements with the institution, and recently, the material acquired was presented with the subsidy granted to the ortho-prosthetic bank of the Red Cross through the council of citizen participation, within the projects of subsidies to associations of socio-sanitary interest.
In addition, the Red Cross carries out social intervention programs and activities with volunteering, in this sense the City gave vehicles to the Red Cross for the adapted transport of users with reduced mobility to the Day Center.
Another of the agreements with the Red Cross is the Solidarity Basket with which the Red Cross provides healthy breakfasts to children who are at risk of social exclusion throughout the year.
Finally, through the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Red Cross launched this year a new vessel LS-Selene, with which the voluntary teams of the Humanitarian Institution develop their work of Maritime Rescue in the Mar Menor.
