The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, accompanied by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, visited today in Lo Pagán the centers where spend 66 vacation periods under the tutelage of the Autonomous Community, 32 of them welcomed in the Belluga Cardinal Center, of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, and 34 of the Mother Paula Home Center, managed by the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, highlighted "the exemplary work carried out by associations with leisure activities and free time, in their eagerness to offer these children a genuine home and a normal life for their personal development."
The Autonomous Community protects a total of 365 children in their own or concerted protection centers.
The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities also currently serves, in foster care or adoption to another 805 children who are in different processes, of which 646 children are in foster care in extended family and 159 with a family outside.
