The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the Councilor for Education, Guadalupe García, and the Director General of Professional Training of the Community, Sergio López, visited the local schools today to mark the start of the school year, which has started with 2,900 children enrolled in infanitl and primary school.

The mayor explained that normality has been the main theme of this first day in the nine centers for early childhood and primary education in San Pedro del Pinatar, such as the public schools Children Number 1, Los Pinos, Los Antolinos, Nuestra Señora del Carmen , Maspalomas, Villa Alegría and Las Esperanzas, as well as the concert center San Pedro Apóstol and the private New Castelar College.

Thus, he pointed out that the students and teaching staff have started the classes without any type of incident and has remembered the more than 200 performances that during the summer months have been developed in the public centers for their maintenance and improvement, such as work masonry, painting, locksmith, plumbing, or gardening, among others.

In addition, he recalled that, with the aim of deepening the reconciliation of family and work life, the City Council puts back into service, from the first day of class, the morning classroom at the Los Antolinos school, giving parents the option for children to enter the center from 07:30 hours.

For his part, Sergio Lopez has indicated that the Ministry of Education is working on the improvement of schools and has indicated that the project is being developed for the expansion of Maspalomas school, with the aim of integrating in the same building at all levels of early childhood education.

The next ones to be included in the school calendar will be the secondary and high school students of the Manuel Tárraga Escribano and Dos Mares Institutes, and the San Pedro Apóstol and Castelar College educational centers, as well as those of the Adult Education courses that will begin their activity on next September 13.

On the other hand, Vocational Training will start on September 20.
