The agents of the Beach Unit of San Pedro del Pinatar have focused their work on the information and application of the municipal ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the beaches, as well as compliance with traffic regulations or the Citizen Security Law.
The device of the Beach Unit of San Pedro del Pinatar, which has been launched for the third consecutive year during the summer period, has been operational from June 23 to September 9, consisting of seven agents and a corporal of the Police Local, which have had five bicycles, two quad and an off-road vehicle to patrol the 13 kilometers of coast of the town, in addition to maritime walks and surrounding areas.
The objective of this Beach Unit has been to provide information to the citizen and ensure peaceful coexistence and safety on the beaches of the town.
Thus, one of the main functions of this unit has once again been to offer information to the citizen, making a total of 3090 actions in this area.
Regarding the sanctions directly related to the Ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the Beaches, they have been estimated at 119, most of these acts have been for the possession of animals on the beaches (75) and street vending (24).
In addition, 43 complaints have been processed for breach of the Citizen Security Law, mostly related to the consumption and possession of narcotic substances and lack of respect for agents;
and 400 for traffic infractions, mainly due to inadequate parking.
The Beach Unit has also made 123 identifications of people, has participated in the search and accompaniment of missing children and elderly, has collaborated with citizen security patrols of the same police force and lifeguard COPLA Plan in different actions.
The agents of this Unit have also participated in the removal of objects and animals appeared on the beaches and have collaborated with the Department of Community Services in the maintenance of public areas, communicating defects in street furniture and common areas, among others.
