Next 6th and 7th of October, the beaches of Villananitos and Lo Pagán will host the third edition of the Mar Menor Games, an initiative of the Union of Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia that includes competitions, exhibitions, baptisms, and tournaments of more than 60 sports that are practiced in the Region.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, and the president of the Union of Sports Federations of the Region, José María López, presented today at the Nautical Activities Center of Lo Pagán. third edition of the Mar Menor Games, along with representatives of sports federations and the Faculty of Sports of the University of Murcia.

This initiative emerged three years ago with the aim of reclaiming the destiny of the Mar Menor as the ideal place to practice sports throughout the year, being also a showcase of the great diversity of sports in the Region of Murcia.

In this regard, Visitación Martínez stressed that "sports and nautical tourism is one of the main lines of expansion of the sector in recent years, as evidenced by the quality of sports facilities, the holding of national and international events, the proliferation of sports events, or the important nautical offer with three marinas ".

In this framework, the Mar Menor Games take place on October 6 and 7, with tournaments, exhibitions, championships and simultaneous activities on the beaches of Villananitos and La Puntica, the park of Mar Reyes de Espańa, the esplanade, and the Nautical activities of disciplines as different as horse riding, fishing, beach wrestling, football, water polo, kayak polo, scuba diving, sailing, canoeing, cycling, boxing, rhythmic and aesthetic gimanisia, archery, orientation, etc.

You can also enjoy the Spanish Championship of Beach Tennis, high jump, bike trial, beach handball, beach volleyball, beach soccer, colombicultura, taekwondo, judo, motorcycling, writing, karate, etc.

In addition, there will be parallel play activities, such as the FeriaSport organized by the University of Murcia for the youngest children;

activities also framed in the University Welcome party, traditional games, masterclass, laser tag or batting tunnel.
