The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Drainage', an investigation aimed at clarifying the finding of two weapons prohibited in San Pedro del Pinatar, which has resulted in the arrest of a known criminal as alleged perpetrator of the crime of illegal possession of weapons.
The Benemérita began the investigation last year, when two firearms were found that were hidden in one of the drains of the AP-7 motorway.
After their location they were seized, reviewed, guarded and remitted, together with all the physical evidence that was in place, to the Criminalistics Service of the Civil Guard, whose Department of Biology prepared a report of the DNA samples that allowed to isolate a genetic profile of a male who turned out to be a known local delinquent, related to drug trafficking offenses and belonging to a criminal organization, among others.
The Civil Guards have carried out a search device on the suspect, who was missing, since a search, detention and imprisonment sign was on the person, a situation he knew perfectly well, along with his relatives, made it difficult to locate them at all times.
The development of the operation allowed the agents to verify that the suspect was hidden in a house in the Alicante town of Torrevieja, establishing then a series of discreet surveillance in order to locate it.
The now arrested used various security measures not to be located, since he rarely left the building and there were always people he trusted in the vicinity of the house to warn of the police presence.
During the last days the surveillance device has been completed when the presence of the suspect was detected in a street adjacent to his house, so that he was quickly arrested and later brought to justice.
The operation 'Drainage' has concluded with the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of a crime of illegal possession of weapons and the seizure of two firearms, type detonating gun (of blank), manipulated and prepared to be used with live ammunition.
The 57-year-old Spanish detainee, a resident of San Pedro del Pinatar and with a large criminal record, seized the effects and the diligences instructed have been made available to the competent judicial authorities.
