This organ of citizen participation, made up of representatives of associations, neighbors and municipal technicians, has debated various topics of municipal interest.
The social council of the city of San Pedro del Pinatar, chaired by the mayor, Visitación Martínez, is made up of representatives of the business sector, neighbors, trade unions, health and humanitarian aid associations, representatives of the elderly, political leaders and municipal technicians.
The general director of the Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo, has attended this session to explain the measures that are being adopted around the salt lake, its current state, and the need to continue raising awareness among the citizens about the conservation of this ecosystem.
In a second point the European project Life-Salinas has been treated, which will contribute to advance in the conservation of two natural areas of great value such as the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar and the dune system of La Llana beach.
The project, which has a budget of 1,790,845 euros co-financed by the European Union, will allow the saline circuit located north of the salt mines to be remodeled and 1,800 meters of new salt mines to be adapted.
Subsequently, the second call for Participatory Budgets has been addressed, of which the first phase of the presentation of proposals has already been launched, in which any person over 16 years old will be able to present their ideas to improve the municipality, which they will translate into 200.0000 euros of investments in the municipal budget of 2019.
This first phase, open until October 21, can be carried out online through the municipal web portal.
After the technical evaluation of the same will be held the voting phase from 12 to 23 November also in which all registered residents, from 16 years, can vote their favorite options, also through the website of the City or, in person, in the Citizen Service Office and in the Pensioner's Homes.
