The jury of the 'Prizes of the Major of the Region of Murcia 2018' announced yesterday the winners this year, among which is Pilar de la Osa Ballester, in the category of Outstanding Person in the local area, whose candidacy was proposed by the City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The jury has valued that, at 91, Pilar de la Osa is an example of active aging, stands out for its generosity, voluntarily, free and selflessly, collaborates with the Brotherhood of San Pedro, with the Housewives, with the Association of Fight against Cancer and with AFACMUR.
He also collaborates giving painting classes in schools and seniors, as well as rakes.
In addition, for years she was president of the Home of the Pensioner Raimundo Benedicto to promote the well-being of the elderly, taking care of their culture and leisure needs and facilitating participation in cultural and social life.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar congratulated Pilar de la Osa for this well-deserved distinction that "is a recognition of a lifetime dedicated to our people."
The prizes of the Mayor of the Region are a public recognition to those who have distinguished themselves for their work, dedication and dedication both at the regional and local level in favor of the elderly, giving them greater relevance and significant value as instruments of change of future.
