Citizens today denounced the felling and massive destruction by the local government team of dozens of trees located in the urban core, "as they try to justify as a result of rehabilitation works being carried out on Avenida Barón de Benifayó," Explained the local spokesman, José Luis Ros.
Citizens have shown their "outrage" at this fact, since according to Ros "there is no justification for trees to be uprooted, especially when it is a work of this magnitude with a budget of almost two million euros."
In addition, the orange municipal group has denounced that these logging "are being carried out without having taken the minimum and most elementary security measures for citizens who pass through the area where the works are being carried out."
Ros has asked for urgent explanations from the mayor, at the same time that she has demanded that she immediately "suspend the logging until the security of both the neighbors and the workers who carry it out is reliably guaranteed."
