Alcantarilla, Bullas, Calasparra, Campos del Río, Cartagena and San Pedro del Pinatar have been recognized as new Child Friendly Cities of the Region, among the 114 municipalities throughout Spain that receive this badge for the period 2018-2022.
San Pedro del Pinatar has received the Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia stamp awarded by Unicef ​​and has already 194 municipalities throughout Spain, with the common goal of promoting the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, through municipal governments.
This recognition is based on the trajectory of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar in the development of actions and policies aimed at improving the quality of life of children and adolescents.
A work that in the last year has been completed with the creation of the Council of Childhood and Adolescence, in which students from all schools in the locality have representation, or the approval of the I Municipal Plan for Children and Adolescents 2018-2022, a unified tool to coordinate and direct the actions that are developed from different areas and that also includes the voice of children and adolescents in the locality.
The City of San Pedro del Pinatar, through the Department of Social Welfare coordinates new actions in this area, as will be, during the second half of November, the celebration of the International Day of Children's Rights.
